There has been some highlights for me this month. My newest addition on Booksie, 'I Used To Choose You,' has not only been climbing the charts, but has also been shared, saved and viewed on multiple social media platforms.
It is always exciting when a piece, that didn't take much time doing, does so well. The same poem was converted with music into lyrics and is also popular in this form. A comment from a fan was, "This should blow up" - made me so proud. In saying that, my Booksie reads have reached 17k, aligning me with my goal of 20k this year. I feel a surge of satisfaction when I see the goals I've set for myself, potentially becoming a reality. Driving me to really focus on achieving more of my goals, including progressing with my language journey of continuing learning Latin and Greek. I've not had the time to dedicate to completing some projects that need doing (these ones need total undisturbed attention), but I have continued to commit to being creative daily. I had inspiration for a new story called 'Tornado' - which is exciting! I've made some small edits and character profiles on some of my on-going stories - so continuing to put sand in the sandpit. I also designed some perfume bottles and specialized scents. I know, such a random thing to do, but being creative always helps with writer's block and it really was a fun project. I was inspired after learning a lot about the art of a perfumier - potential story idea, maybe?! Regardless, this has been a successful month, because daily, I have been actively doing something. For awhile there I lacked the drive or passion to, so this for me has not only lifted my mood but has also made me feel more like my old self. Sometimes we get some overwhelmed with daily life, that we lose our sparkle. Well, I am getting back my sparkle. I hope for those of you that have been feeling the same way, manage to find yours again. Until next time, keep trying. Remember it doesn't need to be perfect. You just need to keep shoveling sand in the sandpit before you can build those amazing castles. Love Aria x

Since my move last year, I honestly haven't done much writing as most of my office remained boxed up. Jumping into June, and with my office almost back to normal - I've had more opportunity to write.
So what have been up to this month? I reached 16k on Booksie! l Entered into the Booksie Poetry 2025 competition with some already published pieces. Submitted a new poetry piece called 'Last Photograph' for a women's magazine publication. Started a new project for fun called Tornado. Compared to the past few months - this is a lot for me to have accomplished. I know I've got a long list of things to get done, but for now getting back into writing is the first step. Let's hope July brings more finished works. Until then... Love Aria x This month is the month the centers around my birthday.
Another year down and another year older... sometimes wiser but we will see. Unfortunately, I have had a bad health run lately, which has required me to rest and to focus on getting back on my feet. I can't tell you how hard it has been, unable to do the thing I love most - be creative and write. I am optimistic that I will return back to normal soon, and be able to continue where I started the year off. It really does suck getting older, when you are unable to bounce back from aliments as fast as you used too. All part in part with getting older it would seem. Despite this, I am not discouraged. There are many people that had many roadblocks on their path towards success and even with this, they were able to be able to get back on track, accomplishing their dreams eventually. I take comfort in this when I am getting frustrated by my linger ill health. For my birthday this year, which has come up so quickly, I have decided that what I want most is to have my life return back to a more organized routine, instead of such disrupted chaos. This is my own personal deadline. Such an odd thing to want for your birthday, right?! But I find if the rest of my life is in a routine, I thrive in my own creative chaos. I guess too much chaos isn't an ideal environment for me to thrive in. What has been some of your own birthday wishes that seem an odd request? As the year counts down, I wonder if this is something you will think about in the future, when your next birthday rolls around. Until next month, have a wonderful and successful May. Love Aria x They say that April is the better time to set goals than in January, which is why it has the name April Theory. I would agree that April has been a month of self improvement but not in writing, but rather in spring cleaning.
Yes, that's right, spring cleaning in April, who would have thought?! Currently, I am trying to catch up on unpacking my house (even though I moved in 6 months ago), which has been bothering me. I like my spaces organized in such a way, that currently its hard to do anything, when my life feels very much still in boxes. So, this month, instead of doing any writing, I have been focused on getting my space into a good system so that I can get back into my writing without distractions. When you tell people you are a writer, they assume that you are able to just switch off and focus on producing a book. For some people this is the case, but for others like myself, other parts in our lives take priority and prevent us from being able to just sit and write. With like anything to do with my writing, I know that no matter when I am able to finally pick it back up, I will always enjoy being back at the keyboard. Excited for whatever the keys produce. In the meantime, maybe check in with your own goals for the year and see if you are on track or if any of your goals need adjusting. Best of luck and until next time. Love Aria x Can you believe it has been a year since I relaunched my website.
Time really does fly by. What a difference a year can make?! Last year, I was focused and on a literary roll, until my accident, pushing back my dreams. This year, I have some pending life changes happening, which means my writing is again, having to take the back seat temporarily, but I have to always remember... This is my dream and my timeline. I have achieved some small accomplishments so far this year, and I am hoping that they will only continue as the year does. In the meantime, March is a month of Madness... setting up how the next few months are going to look. What I want to achieve? What areas need more work than others? etc. 3 months into a the year and I am making sure that I stay on top of all the projects I want to achieve. Happy 1st Birthday to my website. Thank you all for staying tuned. Love Aria x My year started out well. I managed to publish the first 3 parts of Lost Souls on Wattpad and even managed to publish some new poetry pieces on Booksie.
Then I noticed the date and realized that February was been a slow month for my writing. My work load and the heat have taken a toll, and I find I am not as sharp as I would like to be but I am not stressing myself over it. February is the month of love and what better way to show self -love than to take a breath and ride the highs and lows of whatever comes my way. This year my resolution was to side step my way to achieving my goals and that's exactly what I am going to do. That means no matter what obstacle I face, I will continue to moving forward if not always in a organized structure. Besides this is my dream. I have to remember I started writing for myself. There is no pressing deadline. I am the one in the driver's seat and I know I will accomplish my dreams on my schedule. What resolutions did you set for yourself this year? Are they easy goals to reach or do you need to tackle them differently in order to reach them? I read a good piece of advice and its the perfect way to end this month's blog. Have a dream but do not tell anyone until you have achieved it. Not everyone is going to be there in support you as you struggle and work hard on your goals, and all this will do is cause doubt. Instead, stay quiet and once you achieve your goals, than spread the word and enjoy the success. Cheers is to all those working hard chasing their dreams! Love Aria x Happy New Year!
Sorry for my absence over the past few months, but I am excited to be back in action. Sometimes life gets too chaotic and something in your life has to give. For myself, my writing was my sacrifice. Though I never stop writing ideas or poetry, being active online and my socials, did take a backseat. As upsetting as that is for me, it took the pressure off of me to focus on the areas of my life that needed the most amount of attention. At the end of 2024, one of my poetry pieces and short stories appeared in the first edition of Hypo Frost Magazine. It was a very proud moment for me, to have been selected. Check the link out below: Hypo Frost Magazine (Magazines) by Hypo Frost - Issuu With that said, the New Year, was a welcome starting gun for me to refocus on my goals for this New Year and examine how I can continue to achieve my goals, even if that means side stepping instead of going straight up. So far this year has gone off with a bang. My first poem from my new poetry collection, "The Album" debut on Booksie. I also have released 2 parts of Lost Souls on Wattpad. Both these external links are on my website, so please feel free to check both of those out. I look forward to showcasing more of my work this year, so stay tuned for more updates. I wish you all the best for a successful year. Love Aria x We are now in October and what I call, the semi finals of the year.
Only 3 months left of 2024 - Honestly where has the time gone? I don't know about other writer's but I know for myself, this year has really flown by. I wish I had accomplished more. I think we all start off a new year, seeing the potential that a fresh start can bring, only to find towards the end, we are urgently trying to get our projects done, with what feels like a quick countdown. My accident sure did push back a lot of projects and then with my promotion at work, moving to my new place, it feels like my writing goals, have really fallen off track. But the year is not over yet and I still have time. So time to get my creative juices flowing and get back into doing something that makes me happy. I hope whatever projects you have this year, you get motivated to finish them as well. Until next time. Love Aria x We have some exciting news to announce...a new RELEASE date for Waltzing Matilda.
So set your reminders for 12/18/24. Thank you again for all your support and patience. Love Aria x It has been a long journey, but I am finally back and catching up on all the time I have missed.
As frustrating as it is, I needed to take the time to heal and get better. There was no speeding up this process. Unfortunately, the colleterial damage was my book, Waltzing Matilda, had to be put on hold for release. I know you all were disappointed by this, as was I, but now getting back into adjusting and formatting, I am glad I held off. At this stage, I have a new date in mind to release but won't make it public until I am sure. In the meantime, you can read my other work on Booksie. Thank you again for your patience. Love Aria x |
