March was such an exciting ride with the release of 'Lost Souls,' but as the month winded down, I began to wonder - what's next?
After all the work of editing, proof reading, formatting etc. that went into my novelette, I wanted to take a break, before beginning the same process with my next pending novel. But a writer can't just be idle - can they? Recently, I was visiting my 92 year old grandmother, and was telling her about what inspired my latest story I had in development. A story I 'm very excited to be finally writing - set in my hometown! My new story, 'Tailor Made' is set in 1920s Perth, Western Australia. Think of it as the Australian version of Peaky Blinders. As some of you are aware, I find inspiration everywhere, from unanswered questions, history and even things around me. This time was no different. I got the chance to explore a heritage listed building in the heart of Perth. So enamored by the history that was still there. Questioning, what was the original purpose of this place? When was it built? I began to look around the neighborhood for any other buildings that were built in or around the same period, establishing the newest setting of my story. After researching all of this, I was excited to explore the fictional aspect. My main characters and the reason for them. What was their purpose? What was life like then? I began writing my new adventure and began to feel that fresh excitement, that feeling I get whenever I start a new project. But I can hear you say... why start a new story now, when I have another novel already there, just waiting for editing. Well, when an idea is fresh, I like to get down as much as I can, so I don't lose my ideas and train of thought. I can always come back to the story later to revise, adjust and finish. If I start putting sand in the pit, I will have enough when the time comes to build those sandcastles. So for the month of April, I'm getting excited and lost in a new story, before I tackle my next paperback novel due later this year - Waltzing Matilda. Love Aria x

Subscribe to Pre-Order In 2016, I created a private social media profile for Aria Wynter.
I wasn't ready to go public and it took me another 2 years to welcome Aria Wynter to the digital world. The reason for my hesitation was I was scared to reveal myself as a writer. Quietly, for years, I wrote everything from novels, to poetry, to short stories to songs - in secret. It seems an odd thing to hide about yourself but for many reasons my passion was only something I did in private. So, what changed? Life did. I had overcame some major life roadblocks and setbacks. I grew, changed and with that came a new found confident attitude. This was who I am and now it was time to embrace it. 10 years later, I am on top search on google and have enough of a online presence that AI knows who I am. It was not something that happened overnight. It was years of hard work, patience and perseverance. Not because I wanted to be 'somebody' but I longed to find my audience and other like minded people. I can't believe its hit this milestone and I'm so grateful for the leaps and bounds I have made. I look forward to see where I am in another 10 years... Maybe somebody's favorite author...but realistically I am excited to see what stories are waiting for me to create. To everyone that has taken a chance on their dream this is for you. It just goes to show, that you can create something from nothing. Love Aria x We are all feel very optimistic at the moment.
A new year brings new hope that things will be different. Blank notebooks are being opened for stories waiting to be told. New planners are being laid out. Time allocated for the things you love to do. Goals are set and ready for the year ahead. With the end of January approaching... Are you still feeling good about your goals? Are you on track? Overall, I am still maintaining positive moves forward. I have a draft being edited and read 2 books. Compared to what the end of last year got like I am grateful for the small steps I continue making, even on days where I don't feel I accomplish anything. This first blog post for 2026 isn't just a best wishes for the New Year, this is one to remind you that there is still so many blank pages you need to fill out. Let's not lose sight of our goals and dreams. Here's to a successful New Year! Love Aria x In 2014, my life was very different, and it was during this period, I started writing 'The Elements'. There is no crazy origin for how this came about. I simply wanted to read a particular story that just didn't seem to be on the shelves.
Last year, I celebrated 10 years since I started the concept of my series. The starting platform from which I am where I am today. A story that naturally evolved from a stand alone book to a four part novel to a twelve book series. As a reminder, every year in October, on the 24th, I celebrate this. Not just for the story and world that I created but also having the bravery to pursue something I enjoyed and really invest time and energy into it. Without it, Aria Wynter, would have never been created. So, no matter the roads that life takes me now. No matter how much I have changed since its creation, I celebrate the start of a new path, new life, and adventure that I never thought possible. If you love something, chase the dream. It is what makes us who we are. Let no one deter you from that because they don't understand. They don't need too. You are in the driving seat to achieve your dreams. Never forget that. I end this years blog on a happy day. A day of mythology and magic. Ancient history and adventures. A day that brought to life a story that saved me in my darkest days. A story that I will always be the rebirth into my new life. Have a wonderful rest of 2025. I will be back in the New Year. Be safe, write and most of all I look forward to seeing what stories the New Year will bring. Happy Elemental Day! Love Aria x Where has the time gone?
I feel like I have blinked and now BAM - We are in September! August didn't go as well as I planned and unfortunately I got nothing accomplished. Life seemed to take the driver's seat of my time, which left me disappointed. When I was able to do some writing, I felt like I was walking in molasses. It was slow and hard. Exhausting and painful to read what I had written. I felt unmotivated and just over it. I wasn't inspired and even at times felt overwhelmed. Things like; Do you still want to be a writer? Why do you want to write? Is it still important to do this anymore? I guess when I was able to write a little everyday it helped a lot to overcome this feeling. Some days I was able to do a lot and other days not as much, but I felt excited, driven and passionate about what I was doing. It feels like now I have lost my sparkle. I am hoping that as the year begins to wrap up, that I will have more opportunities to spend time answering those questions. Questions like: Did winter just have me hibernating? Or Will spring give me answers? In time, maybe a different perspective. Love Aria x Back in 2020, (the same year searching for toilet paper was like looking for the holy grail) I participated in the 'Aim for August' challenge.
The aim was to write a 80k word novel in 30 days (the month of August has 31 days - yes I know, but I guess they weren't counting the first day they issued the challenge). The formula was: 16 words per minute = 1000 per hour = 2.6 hours per day = 80 hours per week = 80,000 words in a month. The only time I really was able to understand a mathematical equation with ease. So, the big question I bet you are all wondering - Did I accomplish it? The answer is yes. It became the first draft for my fantasy novel 'House of Queens', which was eventually renamed 'The Fragmented Crown.' Since then, I have redrafted and restructured the story, but having something in place to begin with helped give me a great starting point. We always fixate on perfection when it comes to writing but the main thing we have to remember is that we have to have something written first. So, who thinks that they are up for the 'Aim for August' challenge this year? I have been brewing some new ideas, I look forward to seeing if I can achieve the same results this year as I did in 2020. Good luck everyone and let the race begin. Love Aria x There has been some highlights for me this month. My newest addition on Booksie, 'I Used To Choose You,' has not only been climbing the charts, but has also been shared, saved and viewed on multiple social media platforms.
It is always exciting when a piece, that didn't take much time doing, does so well. The same poem was converted with music into lyrics and is also popular in this form. A comment from a fan was, "This should blow up" - made me so proud. In saying that, my Booksie reads have reached 17k, aligning me with my goal of 20k this year. I feel a surge of satisfaction when I see the goals I've set for myself, potentially becoming a reality. Driving me to really focus on achieving more of my goals, including progressing with my language journey of continuing learning Latin and Greek. I've not had the time to dedicate to completing some projects that need doing (these ones need total undisturbed attention), but I have continued to commit to being creative daily. I had inspiration for a new story called 'Tornado' - which is exciting! I've made some small edits and character profiles on some of my on-going stories - so continuing to put sand in the sandpit. I also designed some perfume bottles and specialized scents. I know, such a random thing to do, but being creative always helps with writer's block and it really was a fun project. I was inspired after learning a lot about the art of a perfumier - potential story idea, maybe?! Regardless, this has been a successful month, because daily, I have been actively doing something. For awhile there I lacked the drive or passion to, so this for me has not only lifted my mood but has also made me feel more like my old self. Sometimes we get some overwhelmed with daily life, that we lose our sparkle. Well, I am getting back my sparkle. I hope for those of you that have been feeling the same way, manage to find yours again. Until next time, keep trying. Remember it doesn't need to be perfect. You just need to keep shoveling sand in the sandpit before you can build those amazing castles. Love Aria x Since my move last year, I honestly haven't done much writing as most of my office remained boxed up. Jumping into June, and with my office almost back to normal - I've had more opportunity to write.
So what have been up to this month? I reached 16k on Booksie! l Entered into the Booksie Poetry 2025 competition with some already published pieces. Submitted a new poetry piece called 'Last Photograph' for a women's magazine publication. Started a new project for fun called Tornado. Compared to the past few months - this is a lot for me to have accomplished. I know I've got a long list of things to get done, but for now getting back into writing is the first step. Let's hope July brings more finished works. Until then... Love Aria x |
